Non sine lumine;

  Gardening hangs on to civilization,
what it wants is freedom from being restrained,
gardening  craves abandon and a little of the wild.

Hora pars vitae;

Dream on dear one
In the wondrous world  of sleep;
No sound no sigh
Escapes the drowsy deep;
The mists lay low
The night wind  moans;
The dreamer keeps
His mind on loan;
Till morning light reaps
Heart and soul and dreams.

Scientia et sapientia;

A great passion for books, to hold, to read, to marvel at the words. It will take you into another world, a world of dreams, knowledge and opportunities. Windows  open to lead the mind  into new experiences. Titania

Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill.

A room without books is like a body without a soul.

Symphonie des roses;

Iceberg roses/my garden;

This the  rose
In winter white;
Low shadows cast and pause
On golden heart,
 fragrance hovers
slowly breaks apart.
Silently waiting for summer’s sun;
Stretching, yearning
Frosty white petals shiver,
silently  bow
 All it’s scent and allure
 lost and done
Golden heart still aglow.

Natura non contristatur;

 Photo/ my garden/ Tibouchina Noelle;

The natural world is not sentimental or compassionate.
May come any natural disaster, tsunamis, earthquakes,  eruption of volcanoes a new Ice age, global warming, anything, nature will recover in time and continue as it has always done.  After a Nuclear war, as we are always playing with fire, we might be gone, but nature will continue in its own way and repair itself in time. Nature is not looking out for us and we as tiny beings think we have to look out for nature.  We are not able to control ourselves how do we assume to control nature. How arrogant we are to assume nature needs us!  We who mainly destroy, and then we come up with little band aids and want to make it better.
 It is like we, the arrogant ones have forgotten that we are just a tiny part of evolution. ©Titania

Festina lente;

Sunrise/my garden;

Take life slowly;
Have you lately seen, noticed, watched, felt;

The rising sun, its colour turning the morning for a second into  rosy,  golden streaks of light;
 dewy grass under your feet, slowly warming with the rising sun.

 Muscled, steely dark clouds sweeping the sky;
a stand of  dark trees shot through with looming shadows.

The sun dazzling on a stretch of  water.

A view of the land swept up in the shadows of the late afternoon;
a swath of fiery orange at sunset;

….buried your nose in the heavenly scent of a Rose?

Semper ad meliora;

Melaleuca Quinquenervia;

This wonderful tree
a poem of silvery white brushes sigh with heaviness of dew and scent;
wooed by tiny butterflies,
beguiles and bewitches  in July.

The topic civilization left me sad, helpless and utterly depressed. I  tell myself again and again not to bother with  topics which are out of reach of betterment.  Good or bad civilization  is part of  evolution of mankind.   My inner self  like a conviction always finds itself in deep water, trying for betterment, I  know and see is futile.

Trees like this, natures beautiful optimism push away the ugly sides of  our evolution.

Semper ad meliora
Always towards better things.

Urbes constituit aetas, hora dissolvit;

Civilization...digging for opal;

The great lie about being civilized;
What has been introduced as civilisation has been in fact the  destruction of nature.

We are not yet civilized,  humans  are still a bloodthirsty mob as ever! There is nothing civilized about how nature is treated, it is fracked and abused.
There is nothing civilized about how animals are treated. No, in the truest sense we are not civilized at all, we just think we are.

In my utopian optimism I see true civilization ,  kindness towards each other, kindness to all living things on earth.

I appreciate people who endure hardship to try to make it better for others, for the planet.
Unfortunately the planet does not care because it will always be there even if we destroy ourselves with or without civilization.

We are all sitting in the same boat; is the boat full? Can the planet cope with more civilisation?

urbes constituit aetas, hora dissolvit
Ages erect cities, one hour destroys them.

A bene placito,

Generosity should be easy. It is wonderful  to give.
I love to give little presents, be it a small pot of herbs,  a best chocolate for a sweet tooth;
cuttings from my garden to other garden enthusiasts;  a little special picked up somewhere for somebody loved.  Giving is the best thing in ones life.  A tip  for a coffee to the hairdresser who has done an excellent
job; a carton of beer at Christmas  to the postie who brings up the mail and the parcels;
Giving is easy! Meanness is ugly.

SOL REGIT OMNIA ;

If I had the affinity or felt the need to worship and pray, it had to be to the sun and rain.  Nature bursts at its seams into blossoms washed and scented under the sun’s golden glare and the rain's sweetness.  In the evening, silently glides away smudging a water colour wash on the horizon leaving us bereft in the dark to return on shimmering wings in the morning..

It is understandable and makes  sense, that so many early cultures have worshipped  the sun.
Mankind has taken a mighty step back when they invented a godlike or many godlike persons and erected monuments to them, churches, cathedrals, Synagogues, elaborate places,  to go there to pray to their chosen deity.

Sol regit omnia;  The sun rules over everything.

Quid sit futurum cras, fuge quaerere;

Live a good life.
If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. I am not afraid.

Cras credemus, hodie nihil;

The few who pull the strings in the great world theater KNOW
Plebs are gullible; they believe the biggest lies, if  presented the right way, and over and over again. With the right amount of fear thrown in the recipe works all the time.  They swallow hook line and sinker.
Believe what politicians dish them up so they have been lied to all the time.
Believe in all sorts of religions, sects and other fairy tales which are thought out to keep control.
Believe  in Monarchies, and pay their good money for it to keep them going in the best of luxury conditions.
Believe in astrology;
Believe in Horoscopes;
There is no end of cheat and it is all welcomed with open arms and dead brain cells.

Believe every Tom Dick and Harry when they bark nonsense  from a pulpit;
Believe in all the crap movies, sitcoms, music and songs that come out of Hollywood. They pay a lot of money to buy the trash, to feed their dead brain which is in agony as there is never real food for it.
Believe in the food they eat, which kills them slowly but for sure earlier then they anticipate.

Believe just about anything  that is spewed out by the news channels,  and town criers.

The world is a mess, but has it ever been an Eden?

You and I  are excluded!  ©Titania

Omnia causa fiun;

Life;
Might look perfect;
without grey spots and marks.
Yet in the back may lurk shadows;
a black bank of clouds swooping down,
bleaching the colours.
Nothing is forever, time tells, time heals.
Shadows tend to get washed out,
disappear when one finds inner peace within oneself.
Life is short, it should be foremost filled with pleasure and happiness.
Yet without its duller, dark side we would not know the other. ©Titania

Lamentation

Who are you?
You have no face;

I am a nobody; I have no face;

Nobody cares!

Iraq’s “Grim Reaper”
Madeleine Albright Gets Humanitarian Award

If it would not be so sad, so  disgusting, that this woman is getting a humanitarian award for her callousness  it would be laughable.  She was fine with the fate of half a million children to die, fine with half a million mothers in tears, because of  sanctions applied , no food , no medicines for those Iraqi children.  Albright is as  nasty as they come. She is as wicked as they come.There is no compassion in her face in her attitude.

'There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.' Madeleine Albright

.... the memories of the Iraqi mothers I have held, their tears mingling with mine, or dampening my shoulder, as they watched helplessly as their children faded away in front of us, for want of medications, denied by Albright’s country and the UN she served, flooded back.

The funerals, with the litany of coffins, so small, the impossibly little grave sites beyond counting, throughout Iraq, witness to unique wickedness.

But Madame Albright is right on one thing. There is indeed: “a special place in hell, for women who don’t help other women.” Her Award may yet haunt her to become the ultimate poisoned chalice. Here’s hoping.

Coelum non animam mutant qui trans mare currunt. Imperium dictum by Horace.
